Picture
Leader:  The LORD is in his holy temple;

All:  Let all the earth be silent before him.

Leader:  May our prayer be set before you like incense;

All:  May the lifting up of our hands be like the evening sacrifice.

Leader:  Lord Jesus Christ, stay with us, for evening is at hand and the day is past; be our companion in the way, kindle our hearts, and awaken hope. May we know you as you truly are, we ask for the glory of your name. Amen.*

Reading:
The only true riches are those that make us rich in virtue. Therefore, if you want to be rich, beloved, love true riches. If you aspire to the heights of real honor, strive to reach the kingdom of Heaven. If you value rank and renown, hasten to be enrolled in the heavenly court of the angels.

Be not anxious about what you have, but about what you are.**

Song - Psalm 62
For God alone Oh my soul (3x)
Wait, Wait in silence

For He alone is my rock and my salvation
My fortress, and I shall not be shaken

Trust in Him at all times (2x)
Trust in Him, oh people and wait
Wait in silence, oh wait

Pour out your heart before him (2x)
Pour out your heart before him, Oh people (3x)
Pour out your heart before him
Wait, wait in silence

God is a refuge
Scripture: I acknowledged my sin to you, and I did not cover my iniquity; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah (Psalm 32:5)

(Take a moment to confess your heart to God, receiving his mercy and forgiveness)

Reading – Psalm 56

Song – Psalm 3
I will not be afraid
I will not fear (2x)

For you, O Lord, are a shield about me
You are my glory
You lift my head (2x)

So I will not be afraid, I will not fear
No, I will not fear

I cried aloud, to you, O God
And you answered me

From your holy hill
Thank God, you answered me
Reading – Psalm 113

The Words of Jesus – Luke 24:36-49a
As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”  And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.  And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”  They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate before them.

Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them,“Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you.”

Reflection
•   On how God is present in our need
•   On where you need God to show up in your life, your heart, your work, your relationships…
•   Put that heart cry into words, and with your brothers and sisters, bare your soul before your maker

Song – Psalm 27
The lord is my light and my salvation
and whom shall I fear, whom shall I fear

The Lord is my strength, the stronghold of my life
and whom shall I fear, whom shall Ifear

And you said, "Seek my face."
Your face, O God, I seek

One thing I ask and I will seek
To dwell in house of the Lord all my days
To gaze upon your beauty, worship at your feet
Oh, one thing I seek

Holy fire, Abba Father
My redeemer, my delight
Holy holy, God almighty
You're the one thing I desire
Evening Readings – Psalms 91, 134, 116

Closing Prayer and Benediction

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
